Valeo the global automotive supplier and partner to automakers worldwide on Monday opened wiper motor manufacturing facility at Vallam, Chennai. This new manufacturing facility will manufacture rear wiper motors catering to OEMs and the aftermarket segment in the country.
The plant is spread across a total area of 1,530 square meters with 1,200 square meters built-up area and currently has the capacity to manufacture 500,000 units annually, with an option to increase it to 750,000 units.
A first manual hybrid manufacturing line for Valeo across the globe, this plant is equipped with a traceability system, with a QR Code laser marking capability for Process and Product traceability.
The plant currently produces left hand motor to cater specifically to the OEM needs but has the capability to produce short and medium version of wiper motors.
In addition, the entire manufacturing line will be monitored with cameras for 100% process and product control.
